Hotel Hacienda Los Laureles-SPA recieves the GEMmy prize for excellence in the hotel industry
This prize distiguishes Hotel Hacienda Los Laureles-SPA as the best hotel in Oaxaca, Mexico.

In the beautiful gardens of Hotel hacienda Los Laureles-Spa, located in Oaxaca, an exquisit breakfast was offered to show the Gema prize which was given to the hotel in the month of October in the City of Chicago, where Oaxaca was represented in this North American city in an event that was held by travel agencies, journalists and potencial investors. In the event the Association of Journalists of the Mid West, dedicated to tourism, presented Hotel Hacienda Los Laureles-SPA with the GEMmy award for excellence. Hotel Hacienda Los Laureles-SPA is the first hotel in Oaxaca to have received this prestigious award.
During the breakfast offered by Peter and Ligia Kaiser, there were also present distiguished members of the tourism industry of Oaxaca, for example, Oscar Holm, the Secretary of Tourist Development for the State of Oaxaca, who mentioned the importance of this award. The Association of Mid west Journalists did not actually stay at Hotel Hacienda Los Laureles-SPA during their visit, but were present at the hotel to recognise the award that they have given to the hotel.
Nick Castor of the BBC of London, expert in Latin American hotels, congratulated Peter and Ligia Kaiser for the award that they had received.

Hacienda Los Laureles-Spa Spa and Meeting Hotel,, opened itīs doors on the 15 September, 2000. The hotel was remodeled in such a way as to conserve all the characteristics of the original hacienda, for example the large and long corridors with colonial columns and high ceilings, itīs arched windows, domes and thick adobe walls. A great effort was made to conserve all the trees of the hacienda. Including the tall, magnificent laurel trees from which the hotel takes itīs name, this together with the beautiful gardens, gives the hotel itīs very special characteristics.
Hacienda Los Laureles-Spa offers itīs visitors all the special services inherant in a hotel of itīs class, as well as a personal attention and warmness that will certainly make you feel at home.
The hotel offers a first class restaurant, where a great variety of national and international dishes are available. The Executive Chef is Horacio Reyes and the event coordinator and L.R.I. is Brenda Garcia or Peter Kaiser, and now added to our staff, Armando León.
This hotel forms part of the prestigious associations, Boutique Hotels of Mexico, Bleu & Blanc, Petits Hotels and Luxe Hotels of the World. We have also been accepted to be part of a new prestigious Mexican association organized by the Mexican Government. The new association will be called Luxury Haciendas and Casonas of Mexico. The Mexican Government will be paying personal attention to this new association, which are small private, luxury service establishments.
Part of the plans to continually upgrade the services offered in the hotel is the addition of a fully equipted spa service offering massage, facials, body treatments, reflexology and the traditional indigenous steam bath, temazcal. All of this is combined with walking in the beautiful Oaxaca mountains and also Tai Chi, Yoga, Bach and Reiki in the hotel gardens.
